Persebaran Arus Bahari Dunia, Utara Dan Setan Khatulistiwa

Persebaran Arus Laut dunia terbagi dua secara garis besar, yaitu utara khatulistiwa dan selatan khatulistiwa. Masing-masing belahan bumi ini juga mempunyai rujukan persebaran yang khas pada masing0masing samudera. Berikut ini yaitu persebaran arus maritim di dunia,


A. Di Samudera Pasifik

1) Di sebelah utara khatulistiwa

  • (a) Arus Khatulistiwa Utara, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke arah barat sejajar dengan garis khatulistiwa dan ditimbulkan serta didorong oleh angin pasat timur laut.
  • (b) Arus Kuroshio, merupakan lanjutan arus khatulistiwa utara lantaran sehabis hingga di akrab Kepulauan Filipina, arahnya menuju ke utara. Arus ini merupakan arus panas yang mengalir dari utara Kepulauan Filipina, menyusur sebelah timur Kepulauan Jepang dan terus ke pesisir Amerika Utara (terutama Kanada). Arus ini didorong oleh angin barat.
  • (c) Arus Kalifornia, mengalir di sepanjang pesisir barat Amerika Utara ke arah selatan menuju ke khatulistiwa. Arus ini merupakan lanjutan arus kuroshio, termasuk arus menyimpang (pengaruh daratan) dan arus dingin.
  • (d) Arus Oyashio, merupakan arus hambar yang didorong oleh angin timur dan mengalir dari selat Bering menuju ke selatan dan berakhir di sebelah timur Kepulauan Jepang lantaran ditempat ini arus tersebut bertemu dengan arus Kuroshio (terhambat oleh kuroshio). Di tempat pertemuaan arus hambar Oyashio dengan arus panas Kuroshio terdapat tempat perikanan yang kaya, lantaran plankton-plankton yang terbawa oleh arus Oyashio berhenti pada tempat pertemuaan arus panas Kuroshio yang hangat dan tumbuh subur.

2) Di sebelah selatan khatulistiwa

  • (a) Arus Khatulistiwa Selatan, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke barat sejajar dengan garis khatulistiwa. Arus ini ditimbulkan atau didorong oleh angin pasat tenggara.
  • (b) Arus Humboldt atau Arus Peru, merupakan lanjutan dari sebagian arus angin barat yang mengalir di sepanjang barat Amerika Selatan menyusur ke arah utara. Arus ini merupakan arus menyimpang serta didorong oleh angin pasat tenggara dan termasuk arus dingin.
  • (c) Arus Australia Timur, merupakan lanjutan arus khatulistiwa selatan yang mengalir di sepanjang pesisir Australia Timur dari arah utara ke selatan (sebelah timur Great Barrier Reef).
  • (d) Arus Angin Barat, merupakan lanjutan dari sebagian arus Australia timur yang mengalir menuju ke timur (pada lintang 30 derajat - 40 derajat LS) dan sejajar dengan garis ekuator. Arus ini didorong oleh angin barat.


B. Di Samudera Atlantik

1) Di sebelah utara khatulistiwa

  • (a) Arus Khatulistiwa Utara, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke barat sejajar dengan garis khatulistiwa. Arus ini ditimbulkan dan didorong angin pasat timur laut.
  • (b) Arus Teluk Gulfstream, merupakan arus menyimpang yang segera diperkuat oleh dorongan angin besar dan merupakan arus panas. Arus khatulistiwa utara (ditambah dengan sebagian arus khatulistiwa selatan) semula masuk ke Laut Karibia terus ke Teluk Mexiko dan keluar dari teluk ini melalui Selat Florida (sebagai Arus Florida). Arus Florida yang segera bercampur dengan Arus Antillen merupakan arus besar yang mengalir di sepanjang pantai timur Amerika Serikat ke arah timur. Arus inilah yang disebut arus teluk lantaran sebagian dari arus ini keluar dari teluk Meksiko.
  • (c) Arus Tanah Hijau Timur atau Arus Greenland Timur, merupakan arus hambar yang mengalir dari maritim Kutub Utara ke selatan menyusur pantai timur Tanah Hijau. Arus ini didorong oleh angin timur (yang berasal dari tempat kutub).
  • (d) Arus Labrador, berasal dari maritim Kutub Utara yang mengalir ke selatan menyusuri pantai timur Labrador. Arus ini didorong oleh angin timur dan merupakan arus dingin, yang pada umumnya membawa ”gunung es” yang ikut dihanyutkan.
  • (e) Arus Canari, merupakan arus menyimpang dan termasuk arus dingin. Arus ini merupakan lanjutan sebagian arus teluk yang mengubah arahnya sehabis efek daratan Spanyol dan mengalir ke arah selatan menyusur pantai barat Afrika Utara.


2) Di sebelah selatan khatulistiwa

  • (a) Arus Khatulistiwa Selatan, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke barat, sejajar dengan garis khatulistiwa. Sebagian dari arus ini masuk ke utara (yang bahu-membahu dengan arus Khatulistiwa Utara ke Laut Karibia) sedangkan yang sebagian lagi membelok ke selatan. Arus ini ditimbulkan dan didorong oleh angin pasat tenggara.
  • (b) Arus Brazilia, merupakan lanjutan dari sebagian arus angin barat yang mengalir ke arah selatan menyusuri pantai timur Amerika Selatan (khususnya Brazilia). Arus ini termasuk arus menyimpang dan merupakan arus panas.
  • (c) Arus Benguela, merupakan lanjutan dari sebagian arus angin barat, yang mengalir ke arah utara menyusuri pantai barat Afrika Selatan. Arus ini merupakan arus dingin, yang alhasil kembali menjadi Arus Khatulistiwa Selatan.
  • (d) Arus Angin Barat, merupakan lanjutan dari sebagian Arus Brazilia yang mengalir ke arah timur (pada lintang 30 derajat - 40 derajat LS) sejajar dengan garis ekuator. Arus ini didorong oleh angin barat dan merupakan arus dingin.


C. Di Samudera Hindia

1) Di sebelah utara khatulistiwa

Arus maritim samudera ini keadaannya berbeda dengan samudera lain, lantaran arah gerakan arus tak tetap dalam setahun melainkan berganti arah dalam 1/2 tahun, sesuai dengan gerakan angin ekspresi dominan yang menimbulkannya. Arus-arus tersebut yaitu sebagai berikut.
  • (a) Arus Musim Barat Daya, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke timur menyusuri Laut Arab dan Teluk Benguela. Arus ini ditimbulkan dan didorong oleh angin ekspresi dominan barat daya. Arus ini berjalan kurang besar lengan berkuasa lantaran menerima kendala dari gerakan angin pasat timur laut.
  • (b) Arus Musim Timur Laut, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke barat menyusuri Teluk Benguela dan Laut Arab. Arus ini ditimbulkan dan didorong oleh angin ekspresi dominan timur laut. Arus yang terjadi bergerak agak besar lengan berkuasa lantaran di dorong oleh dua angin yang saling memperkuat, yaitu angin pasat timur maritim dan angin ekspresi dominan timur laut.

2) Di sebelah selatan khatulistiwa

  • (a) Arus Khatulistiwa Selatan, merupakan arus panas yang mengalir menuju ke barat sejajar dengan garis khatulistiwa yang nantinya pecah menjadi dua (Arus Maskarena dan Arus Agulhas sehabis hingga di timur Madagaskar). Arus ini ditimbulkan dan didorong oleh angin pasat tenggara.
  • (b) Arus Maskarena dan Arus Agulhas, merupakan arus menyimpang dan merupakan arus panas. Arus ini juga merupakan lanjutan dari pecahan Arus Khatulistiwa Selatan. Arus Maskarena mengalir menuju ke selatan, menyusuri pantai Pulau Madagaskar Timur. Arus Agulhas juga mengalir menuju ke selatan menyusuri pantai Pulau Madagaskar Barat.
  • (c) Arus Angin Barat, merupakan lanjutan dari sebagian arus angin barat, yang mengalir ke arah utara menyusur pantai barat Benua Australia. Arus ini termasuk arus menyimpang dan merupakan arus hambar yang alhasil kembali menjadi Arus Khatulistiwa Selatan. (iah/berbagai sumber)
