  • Sistem ekskresi merupakan kemampuan untuk menjaga keseimbangan badan dengan cara membuang bahan-bahan sisa yang dikeluarkan oleh sel.
  • Organ ekskresi pada insan terdiri atas empat organ, yaitu ginjal, kulit, paru paru, dan hati.
  • Ginjal merupakan organ ekskresi yang mempunyai tugas sangat penting alasannya ialah membuang sisa metabolisme dalam jumlah besar melalui urin. Proses ginjal menghasilkan urin mencakup 3 tahapan utama, yaitu filtrasi, reabsorbsi, dan augmentasi. 
  • Kulit merupakan organ eksresi yang mengeluarkan materi yang hampir sama dengan ginjal, yakni sampa nitrogen berupa urea.
  • Paru-paru merupakan organ ekskresi yang mengeluarkan sisa metabolisme berupa CO2dan H2O.
  • Hati merupakan organ eksresi yang mempunyai kemampuan menetralisir racun, mengubah sel darah merah, dan menghasilkan getah empedu. Hati mempunyai tugas dalam mengubah NH3 (amoniak) menjadi urea yang nantinya akan dibuang melalui kulit dan ginjal.
